In craniosacral therapy, rest is a cornerstone of healing, but for many, truly resting is a challenge. Winter invites us into a natural rhythm of rest—an inward, downward focus that nourishes our roots. Just as trees and animals draw energy inward, we too feel a pull toward quiet reflection and nurturing activities.

This season encourages us to stoke the fires of our inner world. It’s a time for silence, morning walks, and quiet activities like reading, knitting, journaling, or meditating. These moments nourish our spirit, just as the earth rests before spring’s bloom.

As we honor the quiet, we can connect with plant allies like rosemary, mugwort, and yarrow. In this stillness, we embody the spirit of Temperance—the XIV Major Arcana in the Tarot—archetype of Inspiration, symbolizing “the marriage of opposites”, where both action and receptivity coexist, guiding us to balance and renewal.
